CBI busts fake Amazon technical support centre operating from resort in Nashik; 5 arrested
The CBI has dismantled a cyber criminal syndicate operating a fake Amazon technical support center from a resort in Nashik, Maharashtra. Five Mumbai-based fraudsters were arrested for targeting US and Canadian citizens through phishing calls. The operation employed 60 operators who obtained proceeds through gift cards and cryptocurrency.

From setup to bust: How six Bengal men ran a fake police station in Noida
Six men from West Bengal were arrested for operating a fake 'International Police & Crime Investigation Bureau' in Noida. They impersonated government officials using forged documents, fake IDs, and police-style insignia to extort money. Police seized numerous items including forged ministry certificates, rubber stamps, mobile phones, and ₹42,300 in cash during the raid.

Cops Probe Gang Encashing CMRF Cheques Illegally, 1 Held
Kodad police have arrested a man from Andhra Pradesh involved in a scheme to withdraw Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF) cheques using fake bank accounts. The fraud was discovered when a beneficiary complained about not receiving assistance, only to learn his ₹1.5 lakh cheque had already been encashed by someone else. Police suspect the gang has cheated at least 50 CMRF beneficiaries in Telangana.

Even Google isn't Safe! Voice Phishing Scam Lets Hackers Infiltrate Google Records
Google confirmed a breach of its Salesforce instance by ShinyHunters in June 2025, exposing 2.55 million business records. Attackers used voice phishing to trick employees into granting access through a malicious Salesforce Data Loader application. The data was mostly basic contact information with no payment details compromised.
