Betting Apps Case: Telangana SIT, CID Conduct Raids In 3 States
Telangana SIT and CID conducted raids in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Punjab, arresting eight operators of six illegal betting apps. The accused ran Taj0077, Fairply.live, Andhra365, Vlbook, Telugu365 and Yes365, targeting young adults with promises of easy money. Many victims suffered severe financial and psychological distress, with some cases leading to suicide.

According to a Gartner report, 62% of organizations globally experienced deepfake attacks involving social engineering or automated process exploitation in the past year. Additionally, 32% faced attacks on AI applications through prompt manipulation, while 29% reported attacks on enterprise GenAI infrastructure. Cybersecurity experts warn that GenAI is increasingly being leveraged for phishing, deepfakes, and social engineering attacks.
